Target Trip

I wanted to share with you my Target trip.  Now I'm definitely not a die hard Target fan, I'm a Wal-Mart kind of girl, but I've come around in the last year.  I learned that you can stack Target store coupons with manufactures coupons and save ALOT of money.  My favorite site for Target deals is www.totallytarget.com.  Kerry does a great job of matching up the weeks ad with all the available coupons, both Target and manufacturers as well as pointing out unadvertized price cuts.

For the above pictures items (plus 3 more 12 pks of Diet Pepsi) I paid $19.15.
Lets break that down shall we?

Up & Up Ammonia $1.12
- $1/1  any Up & Up cleaning product Target web coupon
2 Up & Up 50 count cotton swabs $0.99
- $0.50/1 any cotton personal care product 50 count or higher Target web coupon
2 Halls 25ct cough drops $1.19
-$1/2 Halls 20 ct + from All You Magazine
Up & Up Cold/Flu relief $4.04
- $1/1 cold/flu medicine Target register coupon
Up & Up food storage snack size bags 100 count $2.49
-$1/1 Up & Up food storage bags 100 count or higher, snack or sandwich size Target web coupon
2 Renu fresh mult-purpose contact solution 2 oz $1.57-from travel section
- (2) $2 Renu contact solution (no size restriction) coupons.com
Easter eggs $1
4 Diet Pepsi 12 pks for $11

So in this instance I actually got paid $0.43 to buy each of the contact solutions.  The $0.86 was taken off my total.  My store doesn't seem to have an issue with paying the overage as long as you have other items in your transaction so they don't end up owing you money.  This is not the case in every store.

Now this actually should have been $0.50 less but one of my coupons for the cotton swabs didn't get scanned.  I find this happens alot at Target so make sure you check your receipts.  Target receipts, in my opinion, are extrememly hard to read.  Sometimes the store coupons are taken off of the final price immediately and some times they are listed at the bottom of the receipts.  Same goes for the manufacturers coupons.  I often end up adding everything up by hand to see if it came out right.  I have also had times that the coupon was listed on the receipt but not taken off the total.  I have taken it back to Customer Service and they have given me the money back for the coupon.

Hope this helps you save money on your next Target trip.

My First Post

I'm brand new to this blogging thing.  I've toyed with the idea for awhile now.  Every time I finished a project I would think "I want to write about this and post pictures".  Just seemed natural that my next step would be to start a blog.  I am a stay at home mom to two kids and a hard working husband.  I enjoy having crafting/sewing projects going to keep my sanity.  These things are my "me" time and I enjoy thinking through them as much as I like doing them.  I am a natural planner and love the process as much as the product.  Future postings are sure to include everything from recipes, crafts, sewing projects and home improvements.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
